Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 6 July 2026
FamilyCall is a service operated by CatchupLife, Inc. (“FamilyCall,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Delaware corporation. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
For purposes of the EU/UK GDPR, CatchupLife, Inc. is the data controller of personal information collected through our Services.
This policy applies to our website at familycall.care, our application at app.familycall.care, and all calling, onboarding, and Magazine services we provide.
1. Important: How We Use Conversation Data
Before anything else, we want to be clear about something that is a condition of using FamilyCall:
Conversation Data — transcripts, summaries, and memories from Asha’s calls with Care Recipients — is used by us to improve Asha’s conversational quality, prompt design, and overall service experience for all families. This use applies to all subscribers and cannot be opted out of.
We will never sell, rent, broker, or share Conversation Data with third parties for advertising, commercial gain, or any purpose outside of operating and improving our Services. FamilyCall is subscription-funded. Your family’s stories are not our product — they are our responsibility.
2. Definitions
“Subscriber” — an adult (18+) who creates a FamilyCall account.
“Care Recipient” — a family member designated by the Subscriber to receive Asha’s calls. Care Recipients typically do not interact with our website or app.
“Asha” — our AI companion voice agent.
“Conversation Data” — transcripts, audio recordings, summaries, and memories generated from Asha’s calls with Care Recipients.
“Magazine” — a compiled keepsake of stories and family memories, available on the Family Plan, approved by the Subscriber before publication.
3. Our Two-Party Model
FamilyCall serves two distinct types of people with different relationships to our Services:
Subscribers create accounts, set up Asha, manage settings, and interact with the app and website. Standard digital privacy practices apply.
Care Recipients receive outbound phone calls from Asha on a regular phone. They do not visit our website or create accounts. Their primary interaction with FamilyCall is through phone calls. We collect Conversation Data from these calls under the framework described in Section 7.
This distinction matters because Care Recipients cannot manage account settings or website-based privacy controls. Their privacy choices are exercised through participation (accepting calls) or withdrawal (hanging up, or asking Asha to stop calling). Subscribers are responsible for ensuring Care Recipients are willing participants.
4. Information We Collect
From Subscribers
Account information: Name, email address, phone number
Payment information: Processed by our payment provider; we do not store raw card details
Care Recipient details: Name, phone number, language preferences, and family context provided by the Subscriber
Usage data: Call scheduling, dashboard activity, feature usage
Device and online identifiers: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and identifiers set by cookies (see Section 9)
Communications: Support requests, feedback, and correspondence
From Care Recipients (via Asha’s calls)
Voice and audio: Recorded during each Asha call for transcription and processing
Conversation transcripts: Full text transcripts of Asha’s conversations
Summaries and memories: Structured summaries extracted from conversations for continuity
Call metadata: Duration, timestamp, outcome (answered, voicemail, missed)
Automatically Collected
Analytics data: Pages visited, onboarding steps completed, time on page, scroll depth, button clicks
Session replay: Where enabled, anonymized recordings of how users interact with our website (mouse movement, navigation). Sensitive fields such as passwords and payment fields are never captured.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Operate FamilyCall and provide Asha’s calls
Personalize Asha’s conversations using Care Recipient memories and preferences
Compile and deliver the Magazine (Family Plan only), subject to Subscriber approval
Send safety alerts for missed or unusual call patterns
Share family updates and voice snippets through the family dashboard
Improve Asha’s conversational quality and prompt engineering (see Section 1)
Measure and improve our website, onboarding, and marketing effectiveness
Show and measure relevant advertising on third-party platforms (see Sections 9 and 10)
Process billing and manage subscriptions
Send service updates and important notifications
Maintain security and comply with legal obligations
Voice and Conversation Data are never used for advertising targeting — not for ads shown to you, and not to build profiles sold to third parties.
6. Grievance Officer
As required under applicable Indian law and for the convenience of all users, our Grievance Officer for privacy-related complaints is:
Name: Rohan Thakkar
Title: Founder, CatchupLife, Inc.
Email: rohan@familycall.care
Address: CatchupLife, Inc., 303 Twin Dolphin Drive, Suite 600, Redwood City, CA 94065
Grievances will be acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within 30 days.
7. Voice Recording and Care Recipient Privacy
On-Call Disclosure
At the beginning of each Care Recipient’s first call, Asha identifies herself as an AI companion and states that the call is recorded. Care Recipients who remain on the call after this disclosure are treated as having acknowledged it. Hanging up at any time is always available and will not trigger any follow-up without re-authorization from the Subscriber.
How Voice Data Is Processed
Audio from each call is recorded and transmitted securely to our transcription and AI processing infrastructure
Transcripts and summaries are stored to enable Asha to remember past conversations
Raw audio may be retained for quality assurance and dispute resolution; retention periods are listed in Section 12
Voice data is not used to build biometric identifiers or voice clones
AI Improvement
As described in Section 1, Conversation Data is used to improve Asha’s prompt design and conversational experience. This processing occurs on de-identified or pseudonymized data where possible.
8. Magazine Compilation
On the Family Plan, Asha’s conversations are used to compile a monthly Magazine. The process is:
Stories and memories are extracted from Conversation Data
A draft Magazine is prepared and made available to the Subscriber for review
The Subscriber must actively approve the Magazine before it is printed or distributed
The Subscriber may remove, edit, or withhold any content at the review stage
No Magazine content is published or distributed without Subscriber approval. Care Recipients’ private disclosures that were not intended for family sharing should be removed by the Subscriber during review.
